Zombies - Writing assignment
I have just been having a blast seeking out ideas for different types of paid freelance creative writing work and employment, and am happy to say that on the weekend I just had the time of my life getting into writing about zombies for 20 minutes for a larger 10 page screenplay.
I had forgotten how fun fiction writing can be with a little structure. I managed to pen 10 scenes very quickly based vaguely on an old theatre story I had written before as a teen that had a very cliche (but modernized) theme that repeats everywhere in literature and modern storytelling, so it felt comfortable.
I first started with experimenting with fiction writing at age 7-8 writing mini 10-12 chapter books and illustrating them for school, in fact I was being “forced” (ordered) to write them by teachers once they had discovered I could do it.
Then later the teachers had me playing a ton of recorder music instruments in school on Saturdays, enrichment class, because I had been assessed as gifted in English and Music after days of IQ tests. So they forced me to learn all the clefs on all the recorders. My protective mother had refused to let them skip me a grade due to my already younger age. The school had even tried to get me to go to school on Sundays.
So as you might guess, that had left a bad taste with me for fiction writing. I have felt safe in non-fiction and music writing, but I really quite enjoyed writing my first fictional screenplay for a teen audience, it really takes you back to your school age years writing in character for teens.
Teen robots
I decided that it does not matter if I get the job, because it demonstrated to me I may be able to combine my writing skills with film in other formats, too like with scriptwriting professionally because it is so easy for someone like me who enjoys writing and just can’t stop.
It is easier when you can relate to the subject matter. I do not want to write violent or sociopathic screenplays that you see so many other producers commonly writing. That just would not suit me even if it reflects Zen and the darker side of society. I do not really want to go there. So I already see that such gigs could be potentially really problematic for a gal who prefers non-violent cable TV.
I have a super exciting short list of six to seven people I hope to write about in the In the Zen blog, I had been hoping to get back to blog writing but am overwhelmed with requests in many areas and do not anticipate getting to it now until October late or early November due to my job search, film preparations, trying to release my first jazz album and applying for funding.
I have been dodging repeat requests to model environmentally destructive costume jewellery, trying to repel an online Facebook harasser Drake impersonator, and accepting a few podcast appearances and festival, conference events into my life.

It has been a whirlwind of fun lately. Below are the latest events in my world if you think you would like to join me for some sound bathing.
I hope that I can write about my last interview soon, the timeline has really escaped me, but I hope to cover it, even if that interview releases another album before I get to it. My blog is non-monetized, so I have to make a job search and income the focus first. I apologize to anyone waiting for an article, it may be difficult to accommodate those tasks faster unless my followers and supporters make donations.
