Working with high-profile JUNO and Polaris Music Prize-winning musicians, the Nanaimo Opera, B2B Theatre, Festival Nanaimo, Crimson Coast Dance, Friends of Nanaimo Jazz Society, on-the-rise musicians, and creative businesses, Kerilie’s Bootcamp Workshops offer short cuts to money saving techniques.

McDowall’s most recent Montreal client released with strategy and materials from Bootcamp for Recording Artists just received a JUNO nomination a few weeks ago.

She currently judges the Polaris Music Prize and DownBeat Critics Poll and is freelance writing for All About Jazz and INSPIRED 55+. McDowall is a former freelance writer and music critic for DownBeat (2016-20) magazine, and she’s the writer of the In the Zen blog. Kerilie is the 13x Award-winning TV Director of the 2020 short jazz film, In the Zone: Rick Kilburn produced as a volunteer training with the Shaw Spotlight television team from 2015-22. She additionally won a radio award in 2016, and a 1998 Canada Council Grant Award for Guitar/Composition jazz studies in New York and Toronto.

Kerilie reached 13 million+ hits on the movie site IMDB Pro in November 2023 and 12.7 million In February 2024. She ranked in 2024 as #39, making it onto the top 50 list in the contest for #1 Biz Person in North America on the popular business networking site with 8 million members, Alignable.
